Bai Ling to form production company with Milwaukee filmmaker to film western.

International film actress Bai Ling is forming a new production entity with Ross Bigley from Dirty Job Films to produce YELLOW HILL, a Chinese themed western that pays homage to the films of Sergio Leone. Bai Ling will play the lead role of The Stranger, a mysterious gunfighter who has turned her back on humanity, that is until she enters a town called Yellow Hill where Chinese settlers are brutalized and she has to rise up to protect them because no one else will.
 
Yellow Hill will have an estimated budget of $6,000,000.
 
Bai Ling has appeared in such films as “The Crow”, “Anna and the King”, “Red Corner”, “Sky  Captain and the World of Tomorrow”, “Crank: High Voltage”, “Petty Cash” and “Dumplings”. She has also produced and starred in the film “Shanghai Baby” and won the Chinese equivalent of the Oscar for her starring role in “Dumplings” in 2004.
 
Cyn Dulay will also appear in the film as Venus, a Chinese prostitute who partners with the Stranger. Cyn is a Chicago based actress/producer whose credits include “Holiday Baggage”, “Stork”, “Not Another B Movie”, “Satanic Panic” and “Petty Cash”. Currently she is filming the new Starz TV show "Boss" featuring Kelsey Grammer and directed by Gus Van Sandt.
 
Other roles cast include Clyde Travis who’ll be played by Tom Lodewyck (“Petty Cash”, Public Enemies” and “Cut"), Robert WC Kennedy (“Petty Cash) as Lefty, Dan Katula ("Petty Cash") as McBain, Elvis Thao (“Grand Torino”, and “Petty Cash”) as Lee Sau Yin, Nathaniel Ross (“New Day”, Petty Cash”) as Beauregard Carson, Patrick Hayle (“Waking Up with Monsters”) as Lucas Carson, Naomi Leonard (“Mint in box”) as Annie and Mary Morales (“Disembodied, “Dozers”) as The Widow.
 
Also attached in crew positions are Glen Popple (“Petty Cash”, “Port of Call”) as the Line Producer and Timothy J. Lonsdale (“Species”, “Speed”, “Snow Falling on Cedars” ) as Second Unit Director. And Aurum Design, an award winning production house will design our opening credit sequence, their clients include: Harpo Productions, HBO and VH1. They did the show opening for The Sopranos and the movie titles for "Second Hand Lions" and "What's The Matter With Kansas?", their film work has been screened at the Cannes Film Festival and The Sundance Film Festival. 
 
The film is written and will be directed by award winning filmmaker, Ross Bigley ("Disembodied" “Petty Cash” and "Bad Girl"). This will be his fourth feature film, he is the president on the board of directors for the Milwaukee Independent Film Society, and the festival director for the Milwaukee Short Film Festival that’s now in its 13th year.
 
Yellow Hill is expected to shoot in 2012. As more roles are confirmed we will announce them as well.
 
THE PLOT:
The 1860s, Chinese immigrants pan for gold up on Yellow Hill, but they have to contend with a corrupt Mayor and his gang of vicious lackeys. Enter The Stranger, who is no longer accepted by her fellow immigrants but will fight to save them. Also, who is the mysterious Cowboy who shared a secret relationship with her. Will he fight along side her, or against her.
